# What you can ask

> What Echo Agent can look up and make for you, with example requests you can copy.

Echo Agent can see your meetings, the meetings teammates shared with you, the documents you gave Echo, and the web. Ask in plain words, and name the person, company or date range when you can.

## Get help using Echo

Ask a product question, such as "How do I rename a speaker?" or "How do I connect Outlook?" Echo searches its public guides and links to the instructions it used. It distinguishes features available in your version from features still awaiting release. Product Help works independently of the Meetings and Notion switches; the guides are not evidence about your own meetings.

If a guide cannot be retrieved, Echo tells you rather than inventing the steps. You can always open [the help site](https://callecho.mintlify.site/) directly.

## Look things up in your meetings

| You want | Ask |
| - | - |
| A recap | "Summarize my last meeting." · "What did I miss this week?" |
| A quote | "What exactly did Maya say about the security review?" |
| A history | "When did we first talk about pricing with Northstar?" |
| A pattern | "Every risk raised in our Northstar calls since June." |
| A person | "What should I know about Maya Smith before Thursday?" |
| Commitments | "What are my open action items?" · "What does Northstar still owe us?" |

Answers cite the meetings they came from, and meeting links open the meeting in Echo.

## Prepare for the day

With Google Calendar connected, Echo Agent can read your agenda for the next day or so.

* "Prepare my day."
* "Prep me for my 2pm call. What's still open with them?"
* "Which of tomorrow's meetings need prep, and why?"

## Search your documents and the web

* "What does our pricing doc say about annual discounts?" (searches the files you added to Echo; see [Sources](https://docs.callecho.ai/memory/sources.md))
* "Find recent news about Northstar and anything that affects our project."
* "Compare these three vendors on price and support." (with the vendors' PDFs attached)

## Make something

Echo can build the file for you and hand it over as a download.

* "Draft the Northstar proposal from my calls with them and our internal meetings, as a Word document."
* "Turn the action items from this week's meetings into an Excel sheet, one row per item, with owner and source meeting."
* "Make a one-page PDF brief for my call with Maya."
* "Make a five-slide PowerPoint recap of the Northstar project for their leadership."

## Draft messages

* "Draft a follow-up email to Maya with what we agreed and what she owes us."
* "Draft a short note to the team about the timeline change."

Drafts stay drafts. Copy them into your email, or connect Gmail and ask Echo to save a draft there for you to send.

## Connect email and other apps

* "Connect my Gmail." Echo replies with a link to sign in. With Gmail connected, Echo can search and read your email and save drafts, after you approve each draft. Outlook connects the same way for reading.
* Apps such as Slack, HubSpot or Google Drive connect in **Settings › Integrations › Plugins**. See [Connect apps](https://docs.callecho.ai/agent/connect-apps.md).

## Ask for later

* "Tomorrow at 8am, list what's still open for my Northstar call."

In the latest version of Echo, **Scheduled tasks** in the sidebar shows what's coming up.

## Change your Echo records

Ask Echo to make a specific change to your own records, for example:

* "Add a task to send Maya the proposal, due Friday."
* "Mark my task to send the migration plan done."
* "Rename my last meeting to Northstar implementation review."
* "Change the Final Notes instructions for my weekly check-in."

Echo previews the change for you to approve. Check the selected record and the exact change before confirming. If the record changes before you approve, Echo needs a fresh preview. Access to a teammate's shared meeting does not let you edit it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Record previews, confirmations and automatic view refresh are available in desktop 0.1.87. If your older build doesn't support them, update Echo or add tasks directly in [My Tasks](https://docs.callecho.ai/meetings/my-tasks.md). External AI apps connected through MCP remain read-only. See [Release status](https://docs.callecho.ai/reference/release-status.md).

## Use these ideas in your own AI app

If you prefer an AI app that supports remote MCP, connect it to Echo and copy the starter prompt in [MCP and copyable prompts](https://docs.callecho.ai/anywhere/ai-apps.md). That connection reads meeting context; Echo Agent's file-making, recruiting tools, connected-app actions and scheduled tasks remain in Echo Agent.

## By work type

Each track has its own starting points and examples:

* [General](https://docs.callecho.ai/tracks/general.md): daily prep, client follow-ups, proposals.
* [Recruiting](https://docs.callecho.ai/tracks/recruiting/prompts.md): candidate searches, shortlists, CVs and submission emails.
* [Travel advisor](https://docs.callecho.ai/tracks/travel/plan-trips.md): itineraries, option comparisons and trip proposals.

## Limits

* Record edits cover supported Meetings, Contacts, My Tasks, Meeting Types, Guidelines and account settings. Billing, account deletion and settings specific to one device remain outside these chat tools.
* It doesn't send, post or book anything on its own; every action in a connected app waits for you to approve that exact action.
* It may be wrong. Check facts and figures against the cited meetings and sources before you send anything on.
