# Review your notes

> Read, edit and correct the AI Notes Echo writes after each meeting, and regenerate them when you need a different shape.

When a meeting ends, Echo saves the transcript and then writes the AI Notes. You'll see a status such as **Writing your meeting notes...** while it works; the notes appear as they're written and settle when they're final.

## What's in a meeting

Open a meeting from **Notes**. Each meeting has these tabs:

| Tab | What it holds |
| - | - |
| **AI Notes** | Echo's write-up of the meeting |
| **Scratchpad** | The notes you typed on the live notes page |
| **Transcript** | Everything that was said, by speaker, with the recording if you kept one |
| **Checklist** | Which checklist topics were thoroughly covered, briefly touched or not discussed (when the meeting had a checklist) |
| **Claim Checks** | Claims flagged during the meeting (when Claim Check was on) |
| **Questions to ask** | How each prepared question landed (when they were on) |

## What the AI Notes contain

The shape of the notes comes from the meeting's Meeting Type:

| Meeting Type | Sections |
| - | - |
| General meeting | Summary, Key discussion points grouped by topic, Decisions, Action items as a table with owner and due date, and Open questions and risks. A Meeting Type you made without its own notes format uses the same layout |
| Discovery Call | Summary, Decisions, Customer Asks, Objections, Commitments, Action Items and a Follow-up Draft |
| Candidate interview | Recommendation, Scorecard with evidence, Evidence by Rubric Item, Communication, Action Items |
| Client briefing (Client intake on older accounts) | Summary, Role Brief, Must-haves & Nice-to-haves, Compensation, Process & Timeline, Selling Points, Action Items, Follow-up Draft |
| Hiring manager debrief | Summary, Candidate Feedback for each candidate, Decisions, Action Items |

You can change the shape for a Meeting Type with **How Echo writes the wrap**. See [Meeting Types](https://docs.callecho.ai/customize/meeting-types.md).

## Edit the notes

Select the AI Notes and type. Your edits are saved with the meeting. **Copy notes** copies them for an email or a document.

## Fix a word or a name everywhere

Speech recognition gets some names wrong. To fix one across the transcript and notes, use the meeting's Ask Echo box:

1. Ask, for example, "Change NetSys to Natixis".
2. Echo shows what it found and asks you to confirm. For a longer passage it shows the **Current** and **Replacement** text.
3. Reply **Yes, do it** to apply it, or **Cancel**.

Echo keeps the original wording of the transcript on record, and it updates search and memory to match. You can only correct meetings you own, after they've finished.

## Ask about the meeting

The same Ask Echo box answers questions about this meeting, such as "What did Maya say about the security review?" or "Draft a follow-up email to Maya."

> [!NOTE]
>
> Release pending — as of October 27, 2026, the next desktop release keeps file attachments in this meeting's existing Ask Echo conversation, with the selected meeting and earlier messages. Attaching a file no longer sends you to an unrelated conversation. Files still obey the attachment limits and source choices described in [Echo Agent](https://docs.callecho.ai/agent/overview.md#give-it-files). See [Release status](https://docs.callecho.ai/reference/release-status.md).

## Regenerate the notes

* **Regenerate notes** writes the AI Notes again from the transcript. It replaces your edits to the AI Notes; the transcript and Scratchpad stay as they are.
* To write them in a different shape, change the meeting's Meeting Type. If you've edited the notes, confirm with **Change and regenerate**.

## Rate the notes

Use the thumbs on the AI Notes to say whether they were useful; a thumbs down asks what was wrong. To change how notes are written for a kind of meeting, edit **How Echo writes the wrap** in its Meeting Type.

## Remove a meeting

Select **Move to trash**. A trashed meeting disappears from Notes, briefs, search and Echo Agent's answers. You can restore it from **Recently deleted** for 30 days. See [Find past meetings](https://docs.callecho.ai/meetings/find-meetings.md).
