# Connect your calendar

> Let Echo see your upcoming meetings so it can prepare a brief for each one and remind you to start.

With a calendar connected, Home lists your day, the next call gets a brief, and Echo can remind you when a meeting is about to start. You can connect Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar on a Mac.

1. Open **Settings › Calendar sources**. From an empty Home screen you can also select **Connect calendar**.
2. Under **Connected accounts**, select **Connect** next to **Google** or **Outlook** and sign in to that account in your browser.
3. On a Mac, switch on **macOS Calendar.app** under **Local calendar** to use your Apple Calendar.
4. Under **Visible calendars**, choose which calendars Echo may use. Include the ones with client or candidate meetings and leave out holidays or personal calendars.

## Options

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Show events without participants** | Includes events with no attendees, such as focus blocks or a prep meeting you created yourself |
| **Time zone** | Changes how Echo displays times. Your calendars and your computer's clock stay as they are |
| **Disconnect** | Stops Echo from using that account. Meetings you already recorded stay in Echo |

## What Echo does with your calendar

* Echo reads event titles, times, attendees and join links to list your meetings and match them to earlier calls with the same people.
* Echo doesn't sync whole calendars to its cloud. When it writes a brief for an event, or you record it, that event's title, attendees and description go to Echo's cloud for that meeting.
* For Google and Outlook, Echo keeps your sign-in encrypted and reads events when it needs them. Attendees from those calendars also appear in Contacts.
* See [Privacy and your data](https://docs.callecho.ai/reference/privacy.md) for how Echo stores attendee details.

> [!TIP]
>
> If macOS asks whether "Chromium Safe Storage" can access a key, choose **Always Allow**. Echo keeps calendar sign-ins in your Mac's encrypted storage, and **Deny** can pause calendar sync until you reconnect.
