# Echo on your phone

> Use the Echo app on iPhone and Android for in-person meetings, your day's briefs, your meetings and Echo Agent.

The phone app is for in-person meetings: a coffee with a client, an on-site visit, an interview in a meeting room. It isn't meant to record phone calls. It shares your account, meetings and Echo Agent conversations with the desktop app.

Download it from the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6793428661) or [Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ai.skillflo.echo.mobile), then sign in with the same account you use on your computer: Google, email, or Sign in with Apple on iPhone.

## Allow AI processing

Before Echo sends anything from your phone for transcription or AI notes, it asks for your permission and names the services involved. Until you allow it, you can't start **Take notes** or import audio. You can change your answer later under **AI data sharing** in the app's settings.

## The tabs

| Tab | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Today** | The next seven days of your calendar, recent meetings and the brief for each meeting |
| The middle button | **Take notes** records an in-person meeting from the phone's microphone. **Import audio** adds a recording you already have |
| **Notes** | Your meetings and **Shared with me**, with notes, transcript and playback. Share a meeting or move it to the trash |
| **Ask** | Echo Agent. Your conversations sync with the desktop app |

## Calendar availability on iPhone

> [!NOTE]
>
> In iPhone version 1.0.13 (19), Google Calendar and Outlook connection can appear unavailable, and enabling calendars on the phone can close Echo. The fixes are implemented for the next iOS build; they aren't delivered by updating these docs. See [Release status](https://docs.callecho.ai/reference/release-status.md).

Phone-only calendar events stay on the phone. They don't receive a Precall Brief or Ask Echo context, and a note you start during one is saved as a Quick note rather than filed under that event. Cloud calendar connections use different processing; see [Connect your calendar](https://docs.callecho.ai/meetings/connect-calendar.md).

## Recording in person

Select **Take notes**, put the phone on the table, and start. Echo transcribes as people talk and labels the voices; you can name them afterwards. Capture continues if the connection drops, and Echo catches up when you're back online.

The phone app records the room through its own microphone. It isn't meant for recording phone calls, so don't use it for one. For calls on your computer, use the desktop app, which also hears the other side. To message Echo from your phone instead, see [Echo on WhatsApp and Telegram](https://docs.callecho.ai/anywhere/whatsapp-and-telegram.md).

## Echo Recorder — release pending

Echo Recorder support is available in selected test builds for compatible hardware. Pairing, several named recorders, saved-recording import and device controls depend on the recorder and build. They aren't a promise that your App Store or Google Play version supports your recorder.

As of October 27, 2026, an iPhone test build has connected to a compatible recorder and captured a real sample into notes. Saved-file import and background continuity on iPhone still need physical acceptance, and store publication remains pending. Some recorder models also remain unsupported in Android store builds. See [Echo Recorder](https://docs.callecho.ai/mobile/echo-recorder.md) for the test-build guide and limits.

## What's desktop-only

Only the desktop app has:

* File attachments and the **Sources** menu in Echo Agent
* CV Out
* Meeting Type editing
* Live help during calls
* Organization settings

> [!NOTE]
>
> Tell people you're recording, especially in person. Echo doesn't notify them for you.
