# Supported platforms, apps and languages

> Where Echo runs, which meeting apps it detects, where it can show speaker names, and the languages it transcribes.

## Devices

| Device | Requirement | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| Mac | Apple silicon (M1 or later), macOS 14.2 or later | Online and in-person meetings |
| Windows PC | 64-bit (x64) | Online and in-person meetings |
| iPhone | iOS 16.4 or later | In-person meetings (not phone calls), briefs, meetings, Echo Agent |
| Android phone | Google Play | In-person meetings (not phone calls), briefs, meetings, Echo Agent |
| WhatsApp, Telegram | By invitation | Chat with Echo Agent; no meeting recording |

## Meeting apps

Echo doesn't join your meeting as a participant. In an **Online meeting** it records your microphone and the sound your computer plays, so it can capture most meeting apps that play through your computer's audio. On Windows, if your call app plays through a particular speaker or headset, choose the same one under **Computer audio** in the Meeting Nub.

What Echo can do beyond capturing the audio depends on the app and your computer:

| | Mac | Windows |
| - | - | - |
| **Detected** prompt with **Start Session** | Google Meet in a browser, the Microsoft Teams app, the Zoom app | Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in a Chromium browser |
| Speaker names | Google Meet in Safari, Chrome, Edge or another supported Chromium browser; the Microsoft Teams app; sometimes the Zoom app | Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in a Chromium browser |
| Wraps up when you leave the call | Google Meet in a browser | Not yet; end the meeting yourself |

On a Mac, Echo also shows a banner when a call app starts using your microphone: **Meeting detected** for apps such as Zoom, Teams, Webex and Discord, **Huddle detected** for Slack, and **Call detected** for FaceTime and WhatsApp. Windows shows these banners for fewer apps.

If Echo doesn't prompt you, start the meeting from Home or **New meeting**.

## Speaker names

Speaker names need no browser extension. On a Mac, allow Accessibility for Echo under **Settings › Audio › Platform Bridge**. Firefox isn't supported. Anywhere Echo can't name speakers, voices get numbered labels you can rename after the meeting.

## Calendars

Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar on a Mac. Echo Agent's daily agenda uses Google Calendar.

## Languages

New meetings transcribe with **Multilingual (automatic)**, which handles calls that switch language. It leans toward English, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese unless you change the set under **Preferred languages** in Settings.

You can also choose a single language for transcription, and the language Echo writes notes in:

English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Indonesian.
