Meeting apps

Echo doesn’t join your meeting as a participant. In an Online meeting it records your microphone and the sound your computer plays, so it can capture most meeting apps that play through your computer’s audio. On Windows, if your call app plays through a particular speaker or headset, choose the same one under Computer audio in the Meeting Nub. What Echo can do beyond capturing the audio depends on the app and your computer: On a Mac, Echo also shows a banner when a call app starts using your microphone: Meeting detected for apps such as Zoom, Teams, Webex and Discord, Huddle detected for Slack, and Call detected for FaceTime and WhatsApp. Windows shows these banners for fewer apps. If Echo doesn’t prompt you, start the meeting from Home or New meeting.

Speaker names

Speaker names need no browser extension. On a Mac, allow Accessibility for Echo under Settings › Audio › Platform Bridge. Firefox isn’t supported. Anywhere Echo can’t name speakers, voices get numbered labels you can rename after the meeting.

Calendars

Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar on a Mac. Echo Agent’s daily agenda uses Google Calendar.

Languages

New meetings transcribe with Multilingual (automatic), which handles calls that switch language. It leans toward English, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese unless you change the set under Preferred languages in Settings. You can also choose a single language for transcription, and the language Echo writes notes in: English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Indonesian.
