Echo works the same way for everyone: briefs before Meetings, transcripts and notes, and Echo Agent between Meetings. A documentation path helps you find the right guides. The app setting is Work type, and changing that setting tunes Echo for your work. Reading a path does not change your account. Change Work type only when you want Echo’s suggestions and setup to change.

General

Client, sales and team meetings.

Recruiting

Intake calls, searches, interviews and CVs.

Travel advisor

Consultations, itineraries and proposals.

Use Echo in other AI apps

Connect an external AI app through MCP when you want that agent to read approved Echo Meetings.

Echo Agent

Use Echo’s built-in agent for meeting questions, documents, and path-specific starters.

What Work type changes

Meeting Types you created or used are preserved, so older accounts may retain Discovery Call, Client intake or Hiring manager debrief. Earlier Recruiting builds may still show the four-format setup. The new setup interview is available in desktop 0.1.87; see Install and set up and Release status. Every path has briefs, notes, My Tasks, Contacts, sharing and Echo Agent’s general abilities. Live help depends on the Meeting Type and which modules you enable. Recruiting also adds Create CV Out in Echo Agent.

Choose or change your Work type

You pick a Work type when Echo first asks What kind of work do you do? To change it later:
  1. Open Settings › Account & workspace.
  2. Under Work type, choose General, Recruiting or Travel advisor.
The Work type setting with Recruiting selected, and the Recruiter formats and CV template rows below it.
Switching never deletes anything. Meeting Types, checklists and approved formats stay where they are. Candidate shortlist access follows your account capability or allowance. If you’ve customized your Quick Actions, they stay too; Restore defaults in the Quick Actions editor switches to your new track’s set.
If you’re not sure, pick General. You can switch as soon as you want the recruiting or travel extras.
