Recruiting’s current default Meeting Types are General meeting, Candidate interview and Client briefing. Existing custom or used Meeting Types are preserved, so your account may still have Client intake or Hiring manager debrief from an earlier setup. You can also create a Meeting Type for debriefs. See Meeting Types. The client-side formats write notes about the conversation: Client briefing captures the role and requirements, and the debrief records the client’s own feedback and decisions.

Client briefing

Use Client briefing when a client briefs you on a new role. If your saved Meeting Type is still called Client intake, keep using it; Echo does not overwrite your custom setup just to rename it.

Checklist

Twelve topics a good brief covers: The default Client briefing includes these checklist topics, with live modules off until you enable them. In Settings › Meeting types, open your type and switch on Checklist if you want live checks. During the call, open the Checklist and select Summarize evidence on a topic to check what was said, or select Ask next in the Meeting Nub for a suggested next question. Echo fills in the rest after the call. Existing Meeting Types keep their saved switches.

Notes

After the call you get a brief you can work from:
  • Summary: the client, the role and why they’re hiring now.
  • Role Brief: title, team, reporting line, location and work model, headcount, what success looks like.
  • Must-haves & Nice-to-haves, in the client’s words, with deal-breakers marked.
  • Compensation, with figures exactly as said and anything not confirmed noted.
  • Process & Timeline: interview stages, interviewers, decision maker, start date.
  • Selling Points: why a strong candidate would join, in the client’s words.
  • Action Items and a Follow-up Draft: a short recap email to the client confirming the brief.
When it applies, Echo adds Brief Gaps (checklist topics the call didn’t cover), Target Companies, Commercial Terms and Risks & Concerns. If you saved a Client briefing notes format, the notes follow it instead. See Set up recruiting.
Turn the intake straight into a search. In Echo Agent, ask: “Search for candidates for the role from my intake call with Tom Reyes today.”

Hiring manager debrief

Use Hiring manager debrief, if your account has it, for feedback calls after interviews. Otherwise create a Meeting Type with the topics and notes you need below. Set up with Echo, available in desktop 0.1.87, can also propose one. See Set up recruiting.

Checklist

Candidates Reviewed, Strengths, Concerns, Decision, Reasoning, Next Stage, Calibration, Offer & Compensation, Timeline, Candidate Feedback.

Notes

  • Summary: the role, the candidates reviewed and the headline outcome.
  • Candidate Feedback: one section per candidate, with strengths and concerns attributed to whoever raised them. Candidates are never merged.
  • Decisions: advance, hold or reject for each candidate, with the reason and who decided. Only decisions actually made.
  • Action Items: next rounds, references, offer preparation and rejection feedback, with owners and dates when said.
When it applies, Echo adds Calibration (changes to the brief, level or pay), Offer Details, Open Questions and Risks & Concerns.

Before your next client call

Your next brief with the client brings back what’s still open from earlier calls with them, such as the salary band they promised to confirm. Their contact record keeps both sides’ commitments. See Contacts.
